Fall Leadership

For every conference, chapters are required to submit specific inforation. Please fill out the forms below for each student and submit them to myGATSA prior to arriving at the confernece.

It is the advisor's responsibilty to ensure these forms are accurate and accessible. In an emergency situation, these forms potentially need to be shared with law and medical personal.

• The Advisor Contract and Advisor Emergency Contact Form only needs to be sumitted at the beginning of the season. Please submit prior to your first conference.
• Student Behavior Contract must be filled out for every student in attendance
• Personal Liability & Medial Release must be filled out by every person attending with your chapter including adults.

GATSA partners with hotels in the area to provide reduced-rate rooms. All bookings need to be made through the individual hotels. See individual hotel info pages. Rooms are first-come, first-served.

DO NOT OVERBOOK then cancel several rooms at the last moment. This practice negatively affects our room block availablity and raises rates.

• Students log in (Must have already created their personal myGATSA Acct)
  • Left side (Dashboard) – Click “Event Testing”
  • FLC Registered Members will see the “Statesman Test” link.
  • Students will enter the password provided by the test proctor.
• At that point the timer starts and they have 1 hour to complete the test. It takes a score of 85 or better to pass and earn the Red Statesman Lapel Pin. Perfect scores will be recognized with a Blue 100% Statesman Pin.

Things to Know

• Statesman Testing is offered on-line for Fall Leadership Conference
• There is a separate study guide for middle school and high school
• Study Guides are linked to the buttons.
• The cost of the test is included in the registration fee for FLC.
• We suggest testing time early in the test window, so that if something comes up (students absent, computer problems, etc.) you have the rest of the time to get the students tested. Do not wait until the last day in case you experience technical problems or other.
• We will not grant any additional testing times past the testing window
• Please make sure that the test is proctored. The test will be available at any time during the testing window. The student logs into their myGATSA account. Look for the Event Testing link and if they were registered to take the Statesman test, it will be visible to choose. Test sessions will be timed for one hour. Computer system timing of the test session will begin when the test items/questions are presented, not when the first question is answered. Test question responses will be automatically submitted when the time expires. The time limit for tests will be 1 hour and is timed by myGATSA from the time the student starts the test.
• The entire test is only accessible throughout a single test session. Please remind test takers to be careful not to close the testing window. Closing the test window terminates the test without scoring and disqualifies the competitor in this test. Once a student logs in to the online testing system, they must complete the test in that sitting during the one hour allotted time. There will not be an opportunity to save data and complete the test later.
• Should you have problems submitting the test, do not close the testing window. If experiencing difficulty while accessing the system or during the testing session, contact Georgia TSA at 404-938-8370 (Angie Quarles) or 678-551-0840 (Steve Price)

Chapter advisors, chaperones and parents are responsible for making certain that all Georgia TSA student members wear proper attire while participating in the events in the Jekyll Island Convention Center as well as the hotels. The board has relaxed the dress code for FLC. Students may wear Chapter T-Shirts and school appropriate jeans and sport shoes are also acceptable as the minimum dress requirements; However, no shorts, sweat suits, tank tops, muscle shirts, or bathing suits are allowed while in the Jekyll Island Convention Center participating in FLC Sessions.

Advertisements for alcoholic beverages, tobacco products, sexually oriented advertising, or illegal substances are prohibited.

OPTIONAL - Business casual TSA attire (polo and slacks) are considered appropriate dress as well for related conference activities and public appearances. Since adults (advisors, parents, chaperones, and guests) serve as role models at Georgia TSA conferences and activities, they are expected to dress appropriately for related occasions they attend. Conference participants not adhering to the Georgia TSA Dress Code will not be permitted to participate in conference activities. Georgia TSA dress code requirements listed as follows:

• Friday wear your chapter shirts to show pride
• Saturday wear your GA TSA Fall Leadership Conference t-shirt
• Advisors, Chaperones and Students must wear conference name badge at all conference venues.
• Armada Boat Teams must wear their Armada shirt and arrive a few minutes before their scheduled heat.

Please be aware that NO FOOD FROM THE OUTSIDE can be brought into the convention center as per restrictions of the contract. Please make use of the on-site Concession Stand for feeding your members on site.

BREAKFASTS: On your own both Saturday and Sunday except Chapter Presidents and Advisor Breakfasts Saturday (provided by GA TSA).

Check your hotel’s lobby store. Some have breakfast sandwiches, Danish, juice, coffee, cereal, etc.

FRIDAY – JICC Concession Stand Open:

11:00am - 6:30pm (Burgers, Hot Dogs, Tacos, Snacks, Soft Drinks etc.) Located in the front lobby

SATURDAY BOX LUNCHES: Included in registration fee. All Special Dietary Requirements will be provided, but MUST be included in EMS Registration

SATURDAY DINNER: On your own.
