State Leadership Conference

For every conference, chapters are required to submit specific inforation. Please fill out the forms below for each student and submit them to myGATSA prior to arriving at the confernece.

It is the advisor's responsibilty to ensure these forms are accurate and accessible. In an emergency situation, these forms potentially need to be shared with law and medical personal.

• The Advisor Contract and Advisor Emergency Contact Form only needs to be sumitted at the beginning of the season. Please submit prior to your first conference.
• Student Behavior Contract must be filled out for every student in attendance
• Personal Liability & Medial Release must be filled out by every person attending with your chapter including adults.

∙ Advisors are responsible for the supervision of his/her chapter delegation throughout the conference.

∙ Make sure that your school delegation is appropriately dressed at all times while involved in official GA TSA functions. Refer to the current GA TSA Dress Code Requirements for all SLC contests or events. They are different than National TSA’s dress code. We require Professional attire or Official GA TSA dress for the Awards Session on Saturday Morning.

∙ There are NO blue jeans, t-shirts or shorts permitted during the conference functions held in the Classic Center.

∙ Food Availability in the Classic Center– Your registration includes a Chick Fil A lunch on Thursday. There will be Chick Fil A Breakfast Concessions on Thursday and Friday in addition to Cash Concessions for Lunch on Friday.

Unclaimed Awards - We have scheduled sessions on each day during the conference. During these sessions we will present awards to deserving individuals. Saturday’s Award Session will present and recognize on stage all students and chapters that placed in the top 10 in competitive events. Each top 10 finalist will receive a finalist pin. The top three will be presented their trophies on stage. Photos will be taken. Schools that are not present to accept their awards on Saturday Morning must make their own arrangements to pick up their trophies from the GA TSA Office in Locust Grove or assume the cost to ship them.

GATSA partners with hotels in the area to provide reduced-rate rooms. All bookings need to be made through the Hotel Booking system.

If you know you will not need the rooms that you have reserved, please release them.

State Qualification Testing

GA TSA uses on-line testing for the State Leadership Conference. This process saves a great amount of time in the conference schedule as well as a lot of space as well. Again this year ALL EVENTS INVOLVING A TEST WILL BE TAKEN ON-LINE PRIOR TO THE CONFERENCE. This process expedites the posting of semifinalist lists, thereby making it possible to start the semifinal rounds for most of these events earlier.

Checklist to Prepare for the State Qualifiers:

• Set chapter deadlines for registration and payment
• Promote Event
• Determine student cost
• Provide students with necessary conference information including cost
• Collect Student payment before registration deadline
• Secure a testing site that will accommodate the number of students you will be testing each day during the testing window. NO EXTENSIONS
• It is recommended that chapters schedule the testing during the first few days and save the later part for forced rescheduling. Regardless of the circumstances, there will be no extensions.
• Make sure that your school computers can access the testing site: in your EMS Accounts Testing Section. As of now, the online testing link is not online but will come available, as we get closer to the testing date. The network administrators need to know this ahead of time so they can add it to the list of trusted sites.
• You MUST secure a non TSA/Engineering Pathway Teacher to act as the testing proctor(s) and add them in the EMS. This person will receive the secure password from Georgia TSA to log your students into the system when they report to test. Suggestions include librarians, counselors, administrators, IT staff, etc.
• Make sure you “Identify Proctors for Online Testing” by the SLC Registration Deadline by logging in as the chapter advisor, on myGATSA. This will allow your proctor to receive communication from GA TSA. The advisor AND all proctors must complete and signed the Advisor/Proctor Forms and upload them to your myGATSA account before the proctor info deadline. Without this, your students will not have the info to test.
• Have your students prepare for their event by reading the event guidelines.
• Confirm the testing times with each of your students and ensure they know where they will be testing. Make sure that students taking the same test are all testing at the same time.
• Proctors properly registered with completed agreement forms will be emailed login instructions and a proctor script. Without this documentation in hand, they will not be able to log your students in for competition. Please check with your proctor(s) to make sure that they receive this information before your scheduled testing times.

The following events will begin with a Qualification Test that must be taken during the testing window. The Semifinalists (top 12) will be determined by the test scores, as always, and will be posted at the State Leadership Conference on the first day of the conference. (Scores not posted)

Things to Know

• State Qualification Testing serves as a qualification round to advance to the State Leadership Conference (SLC) Semifinals. Students with the top scores from this written test will advance to the semifinal round of competition.
• Online testing will be open 24 hours a day throughout the testing window. Students may test at any time during this week, however, if you have multiple students taking the same test (Individual Events that allow more than one per chapter) they must all test at the same time. If the event is a team event, all team members must take their individual tests at the same time. You will need to recruit a proctor who must be present for every testing period. It is a good idea to have back up proctors on standby just in case your original proctor is sick or unable to help for some reason.
• We suggest setting your testing time early in the week, so that if something comes up (students absent, computer problems, snow day, etc.) you have the rest of the week to get the students tested. Do not wait until the last day in case you experience technical problems or winter weather.
• We will not grant any additional testing times past the testing window in order to uphold the integrity of our tests. If a student happens to be sick the day of testing, either all of the students must agree to wait and test once the student(s) arrives back to school or the student who is sick will have to forfeit. With this in mind, it is recommended that Team Tests be scheduled during the first week, to allow for rescheduling..
• Advisors cannot be present in the testing room for ANY reason. All tests will be available at any time during the testing dates window. A proctor (non TSA/Engineering Pathway Teacher) must be available to access the online system for the student participant ID and password. Test sessions will be timed in accordance with Official TSA Rules guidelines. Computer system timing of the test session will begin when the test items/questions are presented, not when the first question is answered. Responses will be automatically submitted when the time expires. The time limit for tests will be 1 hour and is timed by the EMS Testing System from the time the student starts (Logs into) the test.
• The entire test is only accessible throughout the test session. Please remind test takers to be careful not to close the testing window. Closing the test window terminates the test without scoring and disqualifies the competitor in this event. Once a student logs in to the online testing system, they must complete the test in that sitting. There will not be an opportunity to save data and complete the test later.
• Should you have problems submitting the test, do not close the testing window. If your proctor experiences difficulty while accessing the system or during the testing session, have them contact Georgia TSA at 678-551-0840 or 404-938-8370

GA TSA will hold our SLC Electric Vehicle Rally at The Lanier Speedway on Wednesday, March 18, 2026. This event has grown to a point where it had to be moved to a larger venue. The event is open to all to come watch on your way to Athens to check in and register later that evening. Concessions will be available.

Georgia TSA encourages qualified, experienced members to run for state office. Information regarding the responsibilities and commitments required of a state officer are found on the GA TSA Website. Officer Candidate Preliminary Interviews will be held in Athens at the Hyatt Place Hotel on January 24, 2026. The application will be released following the Fall Leadership and will be accessible on the State Officer Team page (under About Us). Applications are due by December 19, 2025.

GA TSA will broadcast our General Sessions over the internet again this year thanks to the team from Hart County High School TSA Chapter. Details will be found in the Registration Info Pack on our website later.

You will be responsible for all registration fees based on your on-line registration!

GA TSA provides four in-state conferences during the school year. Each has posted registration and general conference information, what is included with the registration fee and deadlines prior to each conference. Registration is done via our Event Management System site. The deadline is clearly stated. Advisors may make changes up to the deadline. Your registration is official when you accept the payment disclaimer. At that point an invoice is automatically generated and is located in your account’s billing folder. After the deadline passes, whatever has been entered at that point is automatically submitted. Conference space and purchases are made in good faith by GA TSA for all who are registered. Therefore, chapters are responsible for making full payment for the names that appear on the registration site after that date, whether they attend the specific conference or not.

These documents may be required for various events. They are usually important parts of the rubric score, and students can be disqualified or receive a violation if they are missing. Please make sure students know if they need any of these documents for their entries.
