TSA’s Trip to CORE
By Chris Schramm
Not many people know what TSA is really all about. TSA stands for Technology Student Association. The main idea of TSA is to get students to use modern technology, to creatively solve problems, and to make useful items that can be used by other people. Basically, it teaches us how to live in a technological world.
Just this past weekend the TSA chapter from WBHS went to Covington for an officer retreat. CORE, as it’s called, stands for Chapter Officers Retreat for Excellence. At the retreat, we learned how to work effectively as a team. This trip gave the members who went an opportunity to see a whole new side of each other.
The chapter officers from WBHS also took a test called the Statesman Awards Test. The test was a measure of how much one knew about TSA as an organization. We are pleased to announce that all four officers, Jessica Ledbetter, Jason Newcomb, Nash Heu, and Chris Schramm, passed the test. This test was not only a test of knowledge of TSA, but it was also a test of leadership skills and self-discipline.
Overall, the weekend helped build teamwork, presented knowledge of TSA, and provided an opportunity for the officers to gain leadership skills that they can carry back to their own chapter. |
