Mill Creek High School

Big hearts and helping hands

The Mill Creek High School Technology Student Association (TSA) joined forces with the Gwinnett Habitat for Humanity on November 3rd to help build a house in Lawrenceville. These motivated students met their teacher at 6:30 on a chilly Saturday morning to head to the job site.  They spent the next eight hours driving nails, hanging sheet rock, building steps and applying siding to the house.  They worked with other volunteers from Hamilton Mill United Methodist Church and the new homeowners.  The Technology Student Association is made up of students who are enrolled in Mill Creek’s Engineering and Technology program.  Many of them aspire to become engineers or architects in the future so the Habitat for Humanity build was right up their alley.  They learned a lot and had the opportunity to help others at the same time.

The TSA has a history of reaching out and offering help when it is needed.  This is the second year that the Technology Student Association worked with Habitat for Humanity and they are hoping to help build another house in the spring but the TSA does more than just build houses.  Each of the past two years the TSA has sponsored students in need for the holidays and this year they plan to sponsor two more through Mill Creek High School’s Helping Hawks program.

Thank you to these fantastic students for all they do to help others: Sabeel Siddiqi, Jeff Burleson, Goeff Edwards, Jessica Kim, Ashley Rodriguez, Seth Jorden, Corey Brown, Brain Graham, Jorge Saravia, Kishan Patel and
